In 2013, we decided to visit France and most importantly Normandy, so that we could walk in the footsteps of my father and his fellow soldiers in the 146th Combat Engineering Battalion during D-Day. We were very lucky to have Karine Poullard as our personal guide.
Karine provided a wonderful experience; professional and highly knowledgeable. She had researched the path of my father at Omaha Beach and forward through the countryside. Most memorable was our reverent visit to the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer. Most notably, Karine was able to take my wife and I to graves of soldiers who had been in the same landing craft as my father. Additionally, we visited Saint Lo, where we were able to meet an elderly gentleman who had witnessed, as a boy, the arrival of American forces.
Karine was also a reliable and congenial travel companion. She picked us up every morning from our hotel in Bayeux and added additional and historic points such as Mont-Saint-Michel and Monet’s House and Gardens during our visit. At every point during our journey, Karine provided detailed background information in an enjoyable manner and paced our travel and visits.
We think often about our visit with vivid memories. Karine is an outstanding professional and we highly recommend her guiding services with full confidence.

Karine,
Now that we have had time to unpack, do laundry, get caught up on our work emails, open 2 weeks of mail, and download the over 2,000 photos and videos, Mary Jo and I wanted to send you a note to, again, say a big MERCI for the best tour of Normandy we could ever have hoped for. I know I also speak for Gary and Jane, who thoroughly enjoyed learning about Normandy and Mount-Saint Michel, as well as the WWI-to-WWII transition and other facts you shared in the Caen Museum. I will always be grateful for the details you provided, and the many sights you showed us--I think we visited around 25 different sites in Normandy, plus Mount-Saint Michel and the Bayeux Tapestry, in four days! It was amazing in every way!
Warmest Regards,
Al and Mary Jo
